Gold Coast police regularly attend meetings at the Southport office of the Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence for the progression of positive outcomes for our community, affected in so many ways by violence.
Current and emerging issues are discussed and a collaborative approach to managing and bringing about results are formulated. The capabilities of stakeholders is for open discussion providing understanding of the roles and responsibilities of partner agencies and removing barriers. In effect the meetings do bring about positive results, not always arrests, but sometimes understanding and closure for victims.
Gold Coast Detectives, including our Child Protection Investigation specialists, are committed to providing high end police investigative services to matters of Domestic Violence.
At the Gold Coast, matters of serious criminality will be pursued by Detectives. The month of May is Domestic Violence prevention month.
