Detectives from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad have today closed a six month drug trafficking investigation codenamed Kilo Billabong.
The investigation focused on the possession and distribution of drugs including cocaine, fantasy, amphetamines and cannabis on the Gold Coast.
Police will allege the operation identified links between the illegal activities of an outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) on the Gold Coast and interstate.
As a result of yesterday’s search warrants police arrested a 42-year-old man from Surfers Paradise allegedly in possession of cocaine, amphetamines, and fantasy as well as a hand gun.
He has been charged with trafficking of a dangerous drugs, five counts of supplying a dangerous drugs, four counts of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of property suspected of being unlawfully obtained, possession of a drug utensil, two counts of possession of things used in the commission of a crime and the unlawful possession of a category H handgun.
A 28-year-old Surfers Paradise woman has been charged with possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a drug utensil while a 33-year-old Nerang woman has been charged with possession of property suspected of being unlawfully obtained.
A 27-year-old man from Surfers Paradise has also been charged with trafficking a dangerous drug, two counts of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a thing used in the commission of a crime and possession of drug utensils.
All four people charged are expected to face the Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
Investigations are continuing.
