At midday on September 2, officers from the Jacobs Well Police Beat were patrolling on the Pacific Motorway at Coomera when they observed the driver of a utility towing a large box trailer allegedly with no hands on the steering wheel.
Officers couldn’t believe it when they observed the driver allegedly holding a plastic container in one hand, and eating with a fork in the other hand, all while travelling at 80 km in heavy traffic through a road works zone.
Police intercepted the vehicle and the driver was subsequently issued with a notice to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 25 for driving without due care and attention.
