Detectives from the Western Investigative Group – Gold Coast CIB have charged a man in relation to the alleged discovery of a quantity of drugs and cash on the Gold Coast yesterday.
It is alleged around 4.30pm Gold Coast police intercepted a utility travelling southbound on the Pacific motorway at Coomera.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly located 11.3 kilograms of cannabis and a large quantity of cash.
Gold Coast detectives later searched a Mandolin Avenue residence at Helensvale and allegedly located 16 large hydroponic cannabis plants, 38 MDMA tablets, a quantity of steroids and another large sum of cash.
A 31-year-old Helensvale man has been charged with nine drug related charges and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
