It was one of the busiest nights of the week in the Schoolies Hub for day seven of the policing response to schoolies.

Overnight there were 11 male schoolies arrested on 13 charges which were for public nuisance, street and assault offences.

The assault offence relates to a verbal altercation around 12.05am today between a group of schoolies at Cavill Avenue that resulted in an 18-year-old male schoolie from Queensland being punched and assaulted by two male schoolies aged 17 and 18 years.

Police have charged a 17-year-old schoolie with grevious bodily harm and an 18-year-old schoolie with two counts of common assault.

Both teenagers from New South Wales will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

The 18-year-old victim is in the Gold Coast University Hospital undergoing medical treatment for his injuries.

There were also 36 schoolies issued with liquor infringement notices for drinking in a public place.

In relation to non-schoolies overnight police arrested 9 people on 12 charges mainly for public nuisance, street and drug offences with seven non-schoolies receiving liquor infringement notices.
