On the first day of Christmas my police friend said to me…
Party safe with friends and family.
The festive month is here, hosting a party at home or at a local venue can be great fun.
You’ll want to have a night your guests will remember for all the right reasons. As a host it is your responsibility to ensure your guests are Party Safe.
Here are some key points to consider when organising and holding your party or event:
• Let your neighbours know about your party in advance or better yet invite them. This may reduce concerns about parking or noise later.
• Provide snacks high in protein and carbohydrates such as cheese, dips, crackers, chips, raw vegetables and seafood delay the absorption of alcohol.
• It’s all ’bout that bass, ’bout that bass, no treble – but unfortunately, turn down the bass. It is often the bass noise that bothers neighbours. Turning down bass controls or turning off subwoofers can help to control noise levels. Make sure that your sound system speakers are not facing directly towards your neighbours property.
• Register your party with local police using the Party Safe registration form here. Registering your party with police provides police with the opportunity to supply you with some helpful advice and resources to help in organising a safe and lawful party. It also ensures that police have the information necessary to respond effectively if issues do arise.
The information sheets available on our website have more great ideas and tips to assist in holding successful, safe and lawful parties for everyone concerned.
It’s all fun and games until Santa checks the naughty list.
