At the recent State Adopt-a-Cops Awards I discovered I had a lot in common with a fellow officer who was also there receiving their Regional Award.
Over 27 years ago, in 1988, Senior Constable Tim Littleton, now from the Southern Region, and I, from the South Eastern Region, started at the Queensland Police Academy at Oxley together.
Catching up before the function we discovered that we are both Senior Constables, both in residential Police Beats and both Regional Adopt-a-Cops of the Year.
It was great to catch up again, we have had a couple of reunions in between, but it was great to see Tim doing well.
Working in the Police Beats can be very rewarding and these awards are a reflection of how much the community values their engagement with the police.
