Police have charged a woman following an incident in Helensvale overnight.
At around 10:20pm officers attended a residence in Corinda Place following reports of a disturbance.
It will be alleged as officers were taking a woman into custody a male officer sustained a cut to his arm from a kitchen knife.
The officer was subsequently transported to Pindara Hospital for treatment of a laceration to his forearm.
A 20-year-old Helensvale woman has been charged with one count of serious assault police causing bodily harm whilst armed.
She is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
