Police are investigating following a disturbance at Surfers Paradise early last night.
Around 7.10pm, two males approached a 22-year-old Townsville man sitting near Surfers Paradise beach on the Esplande.
The pair then allegedly stole his food and assaulted him.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with facial injuries.
A 17-year-old Southport man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on February 4.
A 14-year-old Inala boy has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
A 15-year-old Inala boy has also been charged with stealing and assault occasioning bodily harm and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
Following this incident, it is alleged the two males continued up the Esplanade and joined a larger group.
The group then approached a second man who was walking past and an altercation ensued.
Police will allege two men from the group assaulted him and the group began throwing chairs at a nearby restaurant causing patrons to leave.
Officers broke up the disturbance further north along the Esplanade after the man tried to leave the restaurant but the group followed him.
A 16-year-old Coomera boy has been charged with public nuisance and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
No assault complaint in relation to this incident has so far been made to police.
Anyone who was around Surfers Paradise beach and the Esplanade between 7.00 and 7.30pm and who may have witnessed or filmed the incident, is encouraged to contact police.
This incident had no links to Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs.
Investigations are continuing.
