Traffic incident, Broadbeach

A woman is currently assisting police with investigations after an alleged traffic incident in Broadbeach this morning.

Preliminary information suggests that just before 9am a woman and two men were involved in a four vehicle traffic crash on Bermuda Street near the Monaco Street Bridge.

It is alleged that an altercation ensued and the woman and two men attempted to leave the scene of the crash.

Upon police arrival the woman was taken into custody but is alleged to have resisted arrest and jumped into a nearby river. Police retrieved the woman a short time later.

She was transported to the Gold Coast University hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A subsequent search of one of the vehicles located drug paraphernalia.

Two men were also taken into custody near the scene of the traffic crash.

No one else was physically injured as a result of the crash.
