Police at Runaway Bay have been fielding numerous inquiries from elderly residents in the Runaway Bay – Paradise Point area in relation to a scam email doing the rounds.
The email depicts what appears to be an Australian Federal Police logo stating that the recipient of the email is required to go to court and for a link to be opened. Some of the emails also have what appears to be writing in an African language at the bottom.

Under no circumstances should the recipients of the email open the attachment. The attachment potentially downloads a virus on your computer requiring payment to remove the virus. The links in the email may be malicious and should not be clicked on.
