Gold Coast detectives have charged a man following an incident in which a firearm was allegedly discharged in Southport early this morning.
It will be alleged at around 3am this morning a man fired a handgun into the air outside an apartment complex on Aqua Street.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
A 22-year-old Calamvale man has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, discharge weapon in a public place and going armed so as to cause fear.
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, July 18.
