Police are investigating a bag snatching incident involving two men in a vehicle at Carrara this afternoon.
Around 4.05pm a 79-year-old woman and her 80-year-old friend were walking along Nerang-Broadbeach Road when a vehicle drove past from a nearby carpark. A male passenger from the vehicle reached out from the window and pulled the 79-year-old’s handbag which had been over her shoulder.
The male driver and passenger then sped off in the vehicle along Nerang-Broadbeach Road.
As a result of the handbag being forcibly pulled from the woman’s shoulder she sustained bruising to her right wrist.
The male passenger is described as being Caucasian, between 18 to 25 years old with blonde hair.
The vehicle is described as a white Toyota Camry with registration plates 524TPE.
Police are reminding the public to remain vigilant with their personal property particularly handbags and to be aware of your surroundings when out and about.
Investigations are continuing.
