In a joint initiative, City of Gold Coast, Gold Coast Police and RACQ Insurance will be at Burleigh Bunnings on Friday 23 August from 9am – 12 noon as part of Operation Bounceback.
Operation Bounceback is a nation-wide annual public education campaign to help reduce car theft. With generous assistance from the National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council (NMVTRC), Gold Coast City Council has 100 engine immobilisers to give away as part of a competition open to residents who own a vehicle manufactured before 2001 that does not already have an immobilising device fitted.
Gold Coast Police and Volunteers In Policing (VIPs) will also be on hand at Bunnings with information on preventing car theft and will attach one-way screws to help secure your number plates.
