Preliminary information indicates the man entered the Gold Coast Highway business around 11.15am and demanded money from the girl, who was working behind the front counter.

The store manager, hearing the commotion, attended the counter area and the man repeated his demand for money.

The man fled on foot with a sum of cash.

He is described as Caucasian, approximately 30-years-old with brown hair and was wearing a tracksuit.

There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery and no-one was physically injured.
