Police are investigating a series of linked offences including the break and enter of a convenience store, the arson of a vehicle and the assault of a women and theft of her vehicle over night.
Around 11.20pm a Toyota Corolla wagon bearing stolen Queensland registration plates 369IEY was reversed into the front glass doors of a convenience store in Ron Penhaligon Way, Robina.
Entry was gained and confectionary and cigarettes were stolen. Another vehicle, a light coloured hatch, was seen driving off with the Corolla.
Around 1.00am the vehicle was located on fire in a car park of a sporting club in Palm Meadows Drive, Carrara. It was established that the sporting club had been broken into.
Around 2.35am a woman was forcibly removed from her vehicle in a shopping centre car park in Olsen Avenue, Molendinar.
The woman was assaulted and her Gold Nissan hatch Queensland registration 910LBR was stolen and was seen driving off with another vehicle.
The woman was transported to Gold Coast Hospital suffering facial injuries and shock.
Investigations are continuing.
