Yesterday was one of the hottest days on record for the month of February on the Gold Coast.
Despite all the warnings to stay out of the heat, duty called and my partner and I were tasked with doing traffic control at the intersection of Napper Road and Smith Street in Parkwood.
We worked for 11 hours in high temperatures and not one but MANY members of the community came forward to give us water and ask after our welfare.
The concern and care you showed us was humbling.
Thank you to everyone who took the time out to check on us, offer a word of encouragement and a cool drink.
It was great to see so much public support.
