Seafire, Surfers Paradise

Gold Coast police are reminding people to plan their travel as road closures come into effect for tomorrow night’s Seafire.

The rescheduled fireworks and entertainment display is being conducted on Surfers Paradise foreshore and beach tomorrow from 6:30pm until 8:00pm.

The event attracts approximately 30,000 spectators and this year will feature The Royal Australian Navy.

It is non-ticketed, alcohol free, family focussed event.

Police are also urging the public to be patient and avoid this area for non-essential travel during the evening, and advise anyone attending the event to use public transport where possible and plan for traffic delays.

Road closures:

• The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise between the Soul building roundabout and Hanlan Street, Surfers Paradise from 6pm and 9pm.;

• Beach Road and Hanlan Street Surfers Paradise (exit from the Bruce Bishop Park will be assisted by police at this time)

AND

• Southbound Surfers Paradise Blv at the intersection with Elkhorn Avenue, Surfers Paradise – both from 7:45pm until 9pm.
