Police from Runaway Bay are appealing for witnesses in relation to a hit and run traffic crash which occurred at the intersection of Oxley and Lae Drives, Runaway Bay at about 1.30pm on Wednesday April 18.
Police responded to multiple calls from members of the public regarding a Holden Commodore sedan (pictured) which collided with at least six vehicles at multilple locations on Oxley Drive, Runaway Bay.
Police subsequently located a man who is alleged to be the driver of the vehicle walking north along Oxley Drive, Coombabah. The Holden had finally collided with a bus at the intersection of Kangaroo Avenue and Waterbird Place, Coombabah before being located in the driveway of the alleged driver’s home.
Police are appealing with witnesses in relation to the incident and are also appealing for any other drivers of vehicles involved in this incident to report to Runaway Bay Police Station on 5557 6999 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A 32-year-old Coombabah man has been arrested at the scene and charged with a mid-range drink driving offence of 0.140 per cent BAC, driving without due care and attention and failing to remain at the scene of a crash. He is due to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on May 3.
