Robina police are actively targeting drink drivers under the auspices of Operation Blue Strike. Yesterday afternoon, police conducted 868 roadside breath tests, leading to three arrests and the issuing of 15 traffic infringement notices.
Acting Senior Sergeant Mick Sweeney said this was a good result and reminded motorists that RBTs could happen at any time.
“It’s disappointing that some people are still not getting the message about not drinking and driving,’ Acting Senior Sergeant Sweeney said.
“Police are out and about all the time conducting RBTs, so it’s only a matter of time before you get caught if you continue to break the law.
“Alcohol-related crashes are still, unfortunately, something that police see most days and are one of the major killers of motorists and pedestrians in Queensland.”
