Police have charged a 13-year-old boy with armed robbery following an incident at a service station in Upper Coomera yesterday evening.
It will be alleged that just before 6pm, a boy entered the Brygon Creek Drive store demanding cigarettes.
When the attendant refused, the boy allegedly produced a toy gun.
A member of the public grabbed the boy and a struggle ensued where the boy allegedly kicked and smashed a glass window.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police attended the scene and arrested the boy who was charged with one count each of armed robbery and wilful damage.
Investigations are continuing.
