As part of a being an Adopt A Cop, fostering collaborative partnerships with schools is just one of the responsibilities of a Beat Officer.

Within the Jacobs Well division we have over the years had numerous Movie Productions filming in our area.

This year, police met up with Reef Break Production Supervisor Touchstone Pictures, Dot Kyle and arrangements were made for Woongoolba State Primary School student leaders to attend Village Roadshow Studios for the day.

We met producers, actors, workers, visited Reef Break stage sets,  costume set and visited Sound stage 9, the biggest in Australia.

After a catered lunch put on for us, the students then went off to visit the make up crew, with the crew creating tattoos and prosthesis of scars and bruises actors used on the sets, onto the students.

Up and coming youth for the Film Industry?

President  of Village Roadshow Studios Lynne Benzie , Gina Black of Queensland Government Screen Queensland with Producers Stuart Wood and Guy Luthen shared the fascinating world of Film Production, embracing how all facets of job responsibilities from the top to the bottom collaboratively  work together to create a final outcome.

They were also pleased to see police attend with the students as it showed a positive engagement with the students and community.

Senior Constable Mitch Collins said it was great to see the kids learn about the aspects of movie making and how everyone plays their part to make it a success.
