A man is assisting police with their enquiries after a taxi was allegedly stolen from Surfers Paradise overnight.
Around 9.10pm, a taxi driver was picking up passengers outside a bar in Staghorn Avenue at Surfers Paradise when it is believed the taxi was pushed from side to side from outside the taxi.
When the driver got out of the vehicle to investigate, the taxi was driven away by someone else.
The taxi was located a short distance away in Palm Avenue in Surfers Paradise. The vehicle had sustained some damage to its front.
Police are also investigating whether the vehicle may have been involved in damaging a number of parked vehicles prior to being located.
A 27-year-old man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Investigations are continuing.
