Operation Mike Ion charges

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima staged simultaneous dawn raids at Varsity Lakes on the Gold Coast taking into custody two patched members and a nominee of the Hells Angels criminal gang as part of Operation Mike Ion.

Three participants of the Hells Angels criminal gang were taken into custody this morning and have been charged as follows:

30-year-old Varsity Lakes man and patched member of the Hells Angel criminal gang charged with one count each of extortion circumstance of aggravation of being a vicious lawless associate (VLAD Act), supply dangerous drugs and two or more declared criminal organisation participants knowingly a public place

23-year-old Varsity Lakes man and patched member of the Hells Angel criminal gang charged with one count each of extortion circumstance of aggravation of being a vicious lawless associate (VLAD Act), stealing, assault occasioning bodily harm in company circumstance of aggravation of being a vicious lawless associate (VLAD Act), two or more declared criminal organisation participants knowingly a public place and possess dangerous drugs

27-year-old Varsity Lakes man and Hells Angels nominee charged with two counts of possess drugs and one count each of extortion circumstance of aggravation of being a vicious lawless associate (VLAD Act) assault occasioning bodily harm in company circumstance of aggravation of being a vicious lawless associate (VLAD Act), two or more declared criminal organisation participants knowingly a public place

All three men are due to appear in the Southport Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
