Police have charged a man in relation to an incident that occurred in Broadbeach last year.

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima arrested a male participant of the Bandidos and will allege that he was involved in an incident on Surf Parade Broadbeach on September 27 2013. The incident involved members from the Bandidos Criminal Motorcycle Gang and two members associated with the 66 Street Crew affiliated with the Finks CMG.

The 50-year-old Burpengary man has been charged with rioting and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on November 3.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of Taskforce Maxima said this is another example of the relentless pursuit of criminal gang members.

“We will continue to track down all those involved in the Broadbeach incident taking enforcement action where the evidence allows. Criminal gang members need to understand this.

“Time does not affect our resolve, the answer for criminal gang members is simple, don’t commit offences and disassociate from the gang.” Detective Inspector Smith said.
