A man will face Southport Court this morning charged over a disturbance at a house at Southport in the early hours of this morning.
Around 1.25am police were called to a Ewan Street residence in relation to a man allegedly creating a disturbance.
When police attended it is alleged the man armed himself with two empty bottles and approached the police officers in a threatening manner.
It is alleged police issued a number of verbal warnings to the man to stop before deploying their taser.
The man dropped the bottles which smashed and he fell down injuring his buttocks on the broken glass.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
The man has been charged with two counts of assault/obstruct police and public nuisance.
He is due to face Southport Court this morning.
