Jonah, his parents and some of the officers who helped make his wish come true.
The QPS today teamed up with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to help realise 6-year-old Jonah Dafnis’ wish to go on scary rides with his Dad on the Gold Coast. Jonah mentioned to the Make-a-Wish Foundation that he would like to become a Police Officer so the QPS came to the rescue and provided a day packed with adventure.
Yesterday the AFP welcomed Jonah, from Dunwich Hill, NSW to the Gold Coast at the airport. Today Jonah and his parents Amanda and Dimitri began the day with a tour of Surfers Paradise Police Station. You can read about that here as Jonah took the opportunity to lock up his Dad!
He then jumped in a ‘Rhino’ and made his way down the beach and on to Gold Coast Water Police to continue his adventure.

Jonah takes a spin in the ‘Rhino’.
It was then out onto the water as Jonah began patrolling on the P. A. Anderson until transferring to the D. A. Shean and navigating everyone back to Water Police.

Jonah made for an excellent Captain of the D. A. Shean.
After exploring the Water Police jet skis, two cars and three motorcycles from Road Policing Command the star of the show, Polair, dropped in to satisfy Jonah’s curiosity for all things police related.

Here comes Polair.
Jonah rated the visit from Polair as his highlight of the day. Below are some more of the pictures of Jonah’s adventure.
