Easy pickings on Valentines Day

A gated complex on Pacific Pines Boulevard was targeted on Valentines Day with property stolen from cars parked inside the complex.

Leaving wallets, handbags, tablets and other items in your cars is just easy pickings for thieves.

Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security live in a gated complex. In some cases it was as easy as opening an unlocked car door. Anyone who has had their wallet with all their cards stolen will know just how painful it is to replace them.

Pacific Pines Police have said it before but we’ll say it again: prevention is better than cure. Don’t leave your wallets in the centre console and please remember to take your handbag out of the passenger footwell when you get home.

Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.

Crime Stoppers is a registered charity and community volunteer organisation working in partnership with the Queensland Police Service.

For all non-urgent police reporting or general police inquiries contact Policelink on 131 444 or Policelink.qld.gov.au 24hrs a day.
