Detectives from Taskforce Latro have arrested three men following investigations into an incident in which a large amount of cash was stolen from a tourist at Helensvale yesterday.
Around 4pm it will be alleged a male tourist was waiting near a bus in the carpark when he placed a bag on the ground. Three men allegedly snatched the bag and run away.
Detectives today arrested three men aged 17, 20 and 22 at a Coomera address where they seized a stolen car, a motorbike, a quantity of drugs, other property and a significant amount of Chinese currency.
The men have been charged with a number of offences including burglary, stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess dangerous drugs, possess tainted property, and possess restricted items. All men will appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow in relation to these offences.
