On February 11, police from the Surfers Paradise police station attended the launch of QuoCKa at the Surfers Paradise State Primary School.
QuoCKa is a program coordinated by Quota International – Gold Coast aiming to increase literacy levels in children, build a sense of community and to foster good relationships with kids and the community. QuoCka stands for stands for Quota, Cops and Kids.
The QuoCKa program at the Surfers Paradise State Primary School runs for 30 mintues each Thursday with children in Grade 2 being read stories by police officers, members of Quota International – Gold Coast, as well as other community members/leaders. Each child participating recieves a book to keep. A copy of the book is also donated to the school library.




Senior Sergeant James Munckton, Officer in Charge of the Surfers Paradise Police Station said that, “Having our officers read to the children at Surfers Paradise State Primary School provides a positive experience to the students and further builds relationships with the greater community, through strong collaboration”.
