Detectives from the Gold Coast CPIU have made a further arrest in relation to an incident where a woman was allegedly assaulted and stabbed in the back following an altercation at Mermaid Beach on February 11, 2015.
It is alleged a group of young people were loitering in the pool area and damaging property by graffiti at a Seashell apartment complex when a 36-year-old female resident spoke to the group. A confrontation took place which eventually led to the woman allegedly sustaining a stab wound to her back.
A 25-year-old woman was arrested today in New South Wales for her alleged involvement in the incident.
She has been charged with one count of unlawful wounding and is due to face Southport Court tomorrow.
Two boys aged 15 and 16 years have already been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act over the incident.
Police investigations are continuing.
