A 16 year-old man has presented himself to the Nerang Police Station after his photograph was depicted in the Gold Coast Bulletin’s ‘Crime’ page.
As a result of interviews conducted with this person police are now following through with further lines of inquiry concerning offences of unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Stealing and a number of Evade Police offences.
The juvenile, whilst not charged with any offences at the moment, is assisting police who are confident that arrests concerning this matter are likely in the near future.
Senior Sergeant Gordon said this is a prime example of the media, community and police working in partnership to solve crime.
He further encouraged any member of the public who may be able to assist police with their investigations they should contact their local police station or ring Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
